After nearly five years of research and testing, Medline has developed a unique, advanced long-chain synthetic polyester fiber that is designed to wick moisture into the fiber. It is this wicking feature that makes the PerforMAX fiber unlike all other existing derivatives of polyester. Whereas other forms of polyester are inherently non-absorbent, the innovative wicking feature of the PerforMAX fiber provides a significant level of absorbency to the fabric. Unlike a cotton fiber which will trap moisture deep within its pores, the wicking feature of the PerforMAX fiber allows moisture to be held only temporarily so it can be quickly removed during the drying cycle. Thus, the unique 100% synthetic construction of the new PerforMAX sheet combines the longevity and launderability of polyester with the softness and absorbency of cotton.
